Here's what I've been working on lately. You probably know I love musicals, and Phantom of the Opera is a special one to me - it's the first musical I've seen in the west end last year, it was absolutely gorgeous. So, PotO is celebrating 25 years since it debuted in London with a very special production. There will be Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Bogges, playing the Phantom and Christine.
I have to say, while watching the show in London, I was thrilled by the way they staged "Think of me", the aria Christine sings while playing the role of Elissa in Hannibal. Not only the song is amazingly tender and nostalgic, but the costumes are insanely rich and wonderful. I think Christine looks like a goddess covered with gold and jewels and velvet. That's the main concept behind the picture I painted.
I found out there is a HUGE amount of fans (mainly girls) who love making replicas of the gorgeous costumes you can see in the show. I found a few websites (the one hosted by Anea is huge [link]) with many references from various costumes made for productions all over the world. This picture wouldn't look this detailed without those references! Also, I used ~Giboo's amazing pattern.
You really did both Christine and Sierra justice <3
